Located in Merekeme Bay at the northend of Esnagi Lake, 38 miles (20 minutes) northeast of our base is 27 miles long and varying in width from mile to 10 miles. The structure is sandy and rocky with numerous weedbeds. The depth averages about 15 ft but is as deep as 75 ft in spots.

The cabin is 20 x 20 of wood frame construction with built in beds and foam mattresses, propane lighting, wood burning air tight for heat, full size propane refrigerator, full size propane cookstove with oven. In 2002 hot and cold running water was added to the kichen and full bathroom. All cooking utensils and dishes are supplied and there is a large deck with gas barbecue.

A 14 ft aluminum boat with 9.9 hp outboard is provided for every two adult fishermen.

Recommended tackle for Northerns is spinners, spoons, plugs, anything BIG, 15 lb test line, medium action rod and for Walleyes, jigs & Minnows/crawlers/leeches, 6 – 10 lb test line, light – ultra light rod.

We also operate the Northend Outpost across the lake in Akron Bay and two lodges at the south-end of Esnagi, Mar Mac Lodge and Lodge Eighty Eight. You may also access Esnagi Lake by rail from White River. Outpost guests arriving by train are met at the rail landing and transported by boat to Merekeme. Or you may fly direct from our White River seaplane base.
