Pinei Lake, 27 miles (15 minutes) south from the base is 2 1/2 miles long X 1 mile wide and is a rocky, weedy lake about 15ft deep.

The cabin is a 14 x 14 ft one room “mini cabin” of wood frame construction with 4 built in bunks with foam mattresses, a Coleman lantern for light, a wood burning air tight for heat, full size propane refrigerator and a 3 burner propane cooktop. All cooking utensils and dishes are supplied.

A 14 foot aluminum Naden boat with a 6 hp is provided for each two adult fishermen.

Recommended tackle is small spoons, spinners, daredevils, cleos, mepps, minnows/crawlers.

The possession limit is 5 trout per person. Only two fish can be over 11.8″ in size of which only one can be greater than 15.8″ in size.

It is possible to portage to Pukaskwa National Park into Cross Lake for trophy trout (requires a permit from Pukaskwa Park), also 10 miles of the Bremner River and various other lakes are available for fishing. There are no other cabins or outfitters on this lake.
