Hambleton Lake, 18 miles (13 minutes) northeast from the base is 4 miles long x 1 mile wide with a rocky structure and variable depth up to 40 ft.

The cabin is of wood frame construction 24 x 24 ft with built in beds and foam mattresses, propane lighting, wood burning stove, full size propane refrigerator, full size propane cookstove with oven, gas powered generator for electric lights,  has running water in the kitchen and a bathroom with a sink and shower (outdoor privy). All cooking utensils and dishes are provided.

14 ft aluminum boats with 9.9 horse power, 4 stroke outboard motors are available for each 2 adult fishermen.
